DP Economics
The IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) Economics curriculum provides students with a comprehensive understanding of economic principles, theories, and real-world applications. Covering microeconomics, macroeconomics, international economics, and development economics, the course develops critical thinking, analytical skills, and data interpretation abilities.
Assessments include Paper 1 (extended response questions), Paper 2 (data response questions), and Paper 3 (HL quantitative economics), along with the Internal Assessment (IA), where students analyze real-world economic issues. By exploring key economic concepts such as scarcity, market structures, fiscal and monetary policy, and global trade, students gain the tools to evaluate economic decisions and policies from both theoretical and practical perspectives.
