DP Computer Science

DP Computer Science is one of the IB Diploma Programme's Group 4 subjects, covering computational thinking, programming, data structures, and problem-solving through computing. Unlike Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, DP Computer Science follows its own separate curriculum update cycle. The new DP Computer Science syllabus has first teaching from August 2025 and first assessment in May 2027, supporting both Java and Python as programming languages, with a redesigned two-theme structure covering how computing systems work and problem-solving through computing. The legacy syllabus remains valid for schools teaching it through its final assessment in November 2026.
