The IB learner profile describes a broad range of human capacities and responsibilities that go beyond academic success.
They imply a commitment to help all members of the school community learn to respect themselves, others and the world around them.
Each of the IB's programmes is committed to the development of students according to the IB learner profile.
The profile aims to develop learners who are: Inquirers, Knowledgeable, Thinkers, Communicators, Principled, Open-minded, Caring, Risk-takers, Balanced, Reflective
We have created a classroom library for each of the Learner Profile traits. Each classroom library is a collection of 10-15 books expertly chosen by K-5 curriculum developers. Each book in the bundle reinforces that specific learner profile trait.
Also, we have included a grid below to show each book’ by Guided Reading, Lexile®, grade level equivalent and accelerated reading levels. This guide will help every teacher assess which books are appropriate for their students.
The Principled Classroom Library contains the following 12 books:
Shopping with Dad
One City, Two Brothers
Girl with a Brave Heart
Herb, the Vegetarian Dragon
Catch that Goat!
