SESSION 1 - Planning
This section serves as your introduction to the toolkit, outlining the scope and sequence of the course. It concludes with final tips to help you plan your lessons effectively.
SESSION 2 - Teaching
This is the toolkit's core, offering in-depth guidance on various topics within History. This section provides the foundational knowledge and teaching strategies you need to excel from the Prescribed Subjects to World History Topics and HL Options. It also includes additional teacher tips for effective instruction.
SESSION 3 - The Internal Assessment:
This section is a comprehensive internal assessment (IA) process guide. It includes an overview of the IA, assessment guidelines, and a list of resources to help you teach the IA effectively. Additional final tips are also provided for extra support.
SESSION 4 - The External Assessments
Here, you'll find detailed overviews and tips for Papers 1, 2, and 3. This section aims to prepare educators and students for the external assessments and includes a segment on understanding command terms. It concludes with final tips for exam preparation.
SESSION 5 - The Approaches & The DP Core:
This section introduces the IBDP educational philosophy, including the Learner Profile, Approaches to Learning (ATL), and Approaches to Teaching (ATT). It also discusses integrating these elements into the DP Core of the History course.

Cynthia Okoth is the Head of Individuals and Societies Department at M-PESA FOUNDATION ACADEMY in Kenya. She has been teaching DP since 2014.
